Mother's Day Gems

After church Emily showed me the following items:
She handed me the card and said, "This is for you." I replied, "Oh, thank you what are the flowers and candy for?" She said, "Oh, those aren't for you, they are just for me. I will share them with you if you want me to!" She did end up sharing the candy with me. I was allowed one piece. :) Brian and I got a pretty good laugh out of it though.

In preschool Emily made this cute gift for me:

It was framed, and she told me that she made a butterfly with her hands. The poems reads:

This isn't just a Butterfly
As you can plainly see.
I made it with my hand
Which is part of me.
It comes with lots of Love
Especially to say
I hope you have a very
Happy Mother's Day!!!!

She did actually let me have this gift. What a cute idea. I love it!

And of course, my wonderful husband. Who loves me and supports me. Thanks! I love you!

"Where is that Childs Mother?"

Emily informed me, "I am just pretending to be Santa Claus!"

Before I can even blink an eye, Gavin is in the bathroom tearing up the toilet paper.

Despite what this might look like, Emily got into my makeup. She said, "I just used pink. Pink is my favorite color. Look I even did my eyes." Yes, you definitely did!

Happy Easter!

Baseball Anyone?

Because of some great student discount tickets, we were able to take our family to a baseball game. We started out with dinner... (Hamburgers, hotdog, coleslaw, watermelon, and potato salad).

..then we attempted to watched part of the game. When the kids got restless...

..there were some activities for the little kids to be involved in. Emily had a blast.
Gavin didn't make it very long into the evening before he fell asleep. And finally...
...frosties from Wendy's. Yep it was about 11:00 pm when all was said and done.
Hope we can do it again next year!

Baby Gavin

We decided to wait until we went home for Christmas to have Gavin blessed. Our parents live within a couple of blocks of eachother, and we wanted family to be there for the blessing. I made his outfit a size bigger then I thought he would wear, and it fit him perfect. I had blessing pictures taken at the same time as his 3 month pictures. He loved having his picture taken. The photographer even sang him to sleep for one of the pictures.

Happy Birthday!

My First Birthday Party!

Emily had her very first birthday party this year! She had been asking me all year if it was time for her birthday party yet. Finally the day came. I have to say that musical chairs was the best part of the party. We didn't take out any chairs because we didn't want any tears. Everytime the music stopped, the girls would all run back to their original chair. Hilarious. They loved it!

The long awaited Candyland cake.

What is wrong with this picture?

"Could you rock the baby to sleep?" (This isn't exactly what I had in mind...)

Little Smiles!

It is a complicated thing to try and catch an infant smiling. That is why he is clear up in the corner and it is only a half smile. I tried my best!

Thanks Grandma! You're the Best!

Well, it has been 3 weeks since my mom left. Somehow we are surviving. (Hanging by a thread really.) We sure appreciate all that she did for us. She ended up staying for 6 weeks because Gavin had some complications at birth that took a little while to resolve. I can tell you that it is not only Emily, Brian, and me that miss her. My laundry and dishes sure miss her too.

Happy Halloween!

This year for Halloween we went to a Trunk-or-Treat party. This works out nice for us because we have learned that NONE of our neighbors have candy on Halloween. (Who doesn't buy candy on Halloween?!)
Gavin sat in the back of the car with me while Brian took Emily around to the other trunks. Here is a picture of all of us and Emily's good friend. Brian and I decided to go dressed as ourselves this year. Emily has been waiting months to wear her fairy costume. (I had to make it before I had Gavin or it never would have happened.)Gavin had on an outfit that says, "I Love My Mummy". (Isn't that the truth. If he could be attached to me, he would be.)
