A Few Pounds Lighter!
Well, it's done! I had my surgery last week and I no longer have a gigantic cyst growing on my spleen. It was probably the scariest thing I have ever done. Even more so then labor. (You are awake during labor.) I was shaking so hard when we got there. It was almost like I was shivering. The good news is that I only passed out once! If you know me, then you understand that this is pretty good. I warned them that they better give me a sedative before the IV, but they didn't believe me. After I got the IV and was revived, things went smoothly. The best part about it is that they were able to preserve the spleen! That was always the hope, but you never know what will happen once they open you up! Also, they were able to do it entirely laproscopically. Meaning, no large cuts! Yippee! I have 5 - 1/2" stab marks on my belly. There were actually only suppose to be three, but apparently this "thing" was so big that they actually had to go in on the right side of my stomach as well to get the liver out of the way. All in all, I am truly blessed. I was only in the hospital for 3 days instead of the 4 that was planned for. I has been fairly pain free! (I have no problem taking pain medicine on schedule. Hehe.) I am still sleeping most of the day like a newborn, but I guess that is just part of the recovery process...or because of the pain medicine. Brian has been great and has taken on the responsibilities here at home. My kids are going to be very sad when they are stuck with me again. Thanks for all of your prayers and help. I appreciate it all!

8 Years Today!
Time flies when your having fun! Unfortunately, I don't have any wedding pictures to post. We lost the negatives and were never able to have any of them enlarged. The proofs are still at my parents house with a hope that one day we will have negatives made. Here are a couple of our engagement photos...

Here is a brief history for you....
Brian and I grew up together in Utah. We have known each other since the third grade. However, it wasn't until High School senior year that sparks started to fly. Brian's mom signed him up for a sports sewing class to fill an elective credit. I ended up transferring into the sewing class from my anatomy class because I kept passing out. I have a hard time talking about bones, muscles, tendons, etc. (This is very ironic because my degree is in sewing and Brian's, as you know, is getting his M.D.) Anyway, I had already taken all the sewing possible, so I was just in there to sew for fun and help the teacher. Brian apparently needed a lot of help because I spent most of my time helping him. Come to find out, he was playing dumb to get my attention. I was starting to think that he had problems. Who has to stick a pin in for someone? or push the pedal because the machine was going to fast? Really? Of course, I didn't realize it at the time. I was a little slow.
On with the story....
We didn't actually start dating until after graduation. Of course, it was "LOVE". About a month later, I went off to attend Ricks College. They had an excellent sewing program there. Brian and I would take turns going back and forth visiting each other and paying the phone bills. Okay, he paid the phone bills, or was it his dad? Hehe. Yep, there wasn't unlimited calling then. Nope, we didn't have cell phones either. Calling cards. I think it was 5 cents a minute. The phone bills were around $90.00. Again, it was "LOVE". About four months later Brian left for his mission to Sendai, Japan. I waited and dated. What can I say, no one quite matched up. We faithfully wrote each other every week.
Two years later....
I am not going to say that it was all roses when he got home because it wasn't. Somehow it all worked out and we were married 6 months later in Provo, LDS Temple. Brian proposed to me in Rock Canyon Park which is the canyon located directly behind the temple.
I will forever be grateful for my wonderful husband and the love and support he gives. I am glad that he chose me to be with for eternity. I can't imagine it any other way!

Preschool Grad!
I am a little late on this post, but better late then never. Right? Preschool graduation was a fairly eventful day. Let's just say that if I could do it again, I would find a babysitter for Gavin. First, the kids did demonstrations of all the gymnastics that they learned that year. Emily attends a preschool that also involves learning some gymnastics. When they were done, they were each presented with a medal (Olympic style). Afterward, they had a little luncheon with their class. We are proud of her and all she has accomplished this year!
Gavin, at preschool graduation, managed to lay in apple juice (as seen below in his shirt) while dragging himself along the floor below the bleachers. Every time I turned around, somehow I would always found him in areas of the gym that had big signs that said, "Keep children off, DANGER." Yep, it was fun! Notice that no one was sitting by us in the bleachers. :) He's almost 2. What more can I say?
